In a three team tournament consisting of two 45 minute matches against Walter Pandiani's former club, Blues beat a Deportivo La Coruna 'B' side 1-0 courtesy of a Mikael Forssell penalty in their opening game.

In the second match they were beaten 2-0 by Deportivo's 'A' side. Albert Luque and Momo grabbing the goals for the hosts.
