The nineteen-year-old, a regular in Keith Bertschins reserve team set-up, has joined the Owls on a contract until the end of the season with a view to prolonging the deal should he impress at Hillsborough.

Evans played for Blues reserves against Wednesday earlier this week and Owls boss Chris Turner was obviously impressed by what he saw then.

"Richard could be part of our future. He is quick, tricky, can cross the ball and wants to learn," Turner told the Owls official website.

"We don't have a natural left-sided wide player and Richard could fill that gap."
