Burnley bid for Hughes rejected

Bruce rejected the Clarets offer to take Hughes to Turf Moor because of Aliou Cisse’s ankle ligament injury which could keep him sidelined for weeks.

“With Aliou’s situation, I told Burnley that I couldn’t let Bryan go,” Bruce told the B'ham Evening Mail.

Hughes has found his first team opportunities at St Andrews this season limited because of the arrival of so many new players and has not played since the FA Cup defeat at Fulham on January 5th.

He recently had an offer to go to Leicester fall through because of the Foxes financial situation.
