Farewell Horse, Devs and Magic

They wore the shirt with pride, all three of them. Their commitment and their 110% effort cannot be denied, but all three were not going to be named in the starting eleven and two of them at least not even in the 16 man squad Steve Bruce names for each game.

Football is not about sentiments, the three were magnificent in helping us get to where we are now, but any true Bluenose just has to admit they were never going to make it with the big boys in the Premiership.

Steve Bruce has even managed to get fees for the three also. No loans, with the club footing the bill in wages. Not many first division sides splash the cash these days, so three good pieces of business in my opinion.

We now have a squad of 26 players (including what Bruce wanted in 3 keepers) and looking at that squad we have at least two players for every position on the park.

I wish The Horse, Johnno & Devs good luck for the future in their new surroundings and they will not be forgotten in helping us to get to where we are now but my admiration goes out to the manager’s astuteness in the transfer market once again, this time in the sales department!
