Ferguson Refutes Rovers Flop Tag

Ferguson, who has been instrumental at the heart of the Blues midfield since moving to St Andrews last summer, moved to Ewood Park in 2003 from Glasgow Rangers but returned to Ibrox just two seasons later.

Many considered Ferguson's time at Rovers to have been a failure but he does not believe that to be the case.

"I was captain at Blackburn. I don't know why people have the perception that it didn't go well for me there," Ferguson has said.

"Maybe it was because I was injured. I had a bad knee injury but I came back and, when Graeme Souness left, Mark Hughes came in and I was still captain.

"I enjoyed my time at Blackburn and I thought I played well. I think if you asked Blackburn fans then they would agree.

"I think I gave everything I had and I made a lot of good friends as well.

"Rangers came back in for me and my heart led me back up the road whereas, if I look back, maybe I should have stayed down in England.

"People ask me that question quite a lot - 'do you think you should have stayed down here?' - but what happens in life, happens.

"I don't regret any single thing I've done in football terms.

"But, maybe when I finish playing, I'll look back and say 'maybe I was a bit stupid to go back up to Scotland'.

"I went back up the road to Ibrox and I won more trophies so you can look at it in a lot of different ways."
