French keeper set for Blues trial

With Nico Vaesen out for the remainder of the season with knee ligament damage, Ian Bennett is the only keeper with first team experience on the books.

Lama, 39, is set to train at Wast Hills for the next couple of days so Bruce and the Blues coaching staff can assess the fitness of the one time France international keeper.

Bruce was denied special dispensation by Premiership officials to sign another keeper because with Australian under-20 keeper Clint Davis on the books he has two professional keepers fit and available.

However, he is allowed to sign a player with a club in administration or out of work and Lama falls into this category having been working as a goalkeeping coach for the French FA since quitting the game last season.
