The 36-year-old forward has started in just one game so far this season and has mainly had to make do with a place on the bench when fit to be selected. "I can't see it changing from now until the end of the season. It's up to me that when I get my chance I try and help the team win games. "That's why the manager's put me on the bench, to come on to make an impact and score late goals.
"I've started one game and been on the bench for the rest," Phillips has stressed.
"It's always frustrating to be sitting on the bench but I knew that was going to happen this year.
"If I do come on then I'll be trying my hardest."
