Hatters boss Joe Kinnear is to talk with Mooney early next week about the possibility of taking the Blues out-of-favour striker on loan to Kenillworth Road until the end of the season.

”He’s in America at the moment, talking to one of the sides there, but I have been in talks with his agent and he will be in on Monday to talk to me. I can only go by what his agent tells me and he’ll be here to discuss coming until the end of the season," Kinnear told the Luton Town official website

”The contract he is talking about in the States is for next season and hopefully we will have him from Monday until the end of the season.”

Mooney has already had loan spells at first division sides Stoke City and Sheffield Utd and is currently on a short trial at North American side New York / New Jersey Metrostars in a bid to get a deal away from St. Andrew's where Steve Bruce has made it clear he is not part of his first team plans.
