The Blues leading scorer was shown a straight red card by referee Steve Bennett for a reckless two-footed challenge on Rams defender Dean Leacock 73 minutes into the 1-0 win at St Andrew's on Friday night.
McSheffrey will now serve an automatic three match ban for his actions.
