Morrison hoping for recall

Morrison was relegated to a place on the bench for Blues' last game against Chelsea having scored just 5 times this season.

But, his recent form in Ireland's 2-0 victory over Scotland last week in which he scored one goal and earned rave reviews from boss Brian Kerr plus his two goals in the fixture at Anfield earlier in the season may tempt boss Steve Bruce to give Morrison a starting role in Sunday's clash against the Red's at Anfield.

"It is frustrating that I've not reproduced my best for Birmingham and I know I haven't set the Premiership on fire, but I feel I've done all right," Morrison told the Birmingham Post.

"I could have got more goals but we have 11 games left so there's still time for me to knock the goals in.

"I don't think I've found it difficult in the Premiership, but at international level, Ireland create quite a few chances whereas at Birmingham I haven't been getting a lot of chances.

"The standard when you play for Ireland is not that much different from the Premiership. Internationals are a bit slower and you have a bit more quality. The Premiership has plenty of quality but it's a higher tempo.

"The only thing I can do is keep working hard and keep going. The more you work hard and keep going, the likelier that the goals will come."
