In a tight-affair at St Andrews, Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake squandered the best chance of the game midway through the second half when he shot over with the goal at his mercy.
Blues' winger Nathan Redmond and Stephen Ward for the visitors both had chances to settle the tie in stoppage time whilst Blues keeper Colin Doyle also made a superb save late on to keep out a header from Wolves substitute Steven Fletcher.
