Stoke 0 - Blues 2

Last updated : 03 August 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
Blues boss Steve Bruce fielded a strong side for this pre-season friendly and with new signings Robbie Savage and Aliou Cisse dictating the game they dominated throughout.

Mooney opened the scoring after 16 minutes with a header and on the hour mark Lazaridis met Mooney's centre to double the advantage.

On a sour note for Blues though, new signing Clinton Morrison was stretchered off after 69 minutes with a suspected hamstring injury.

Blues: Bennett, Kenna (Devlin 58), Grainger (Lazaridis 19), Cunningham, Purse, M Johnson, D Johnson, Savage (Eaden 85), John (Horsfield 61), Mooney (Morrisson 61), (Hughes 69), Cisse (Carter 75). Subs: Vaesen, Tebily.
