The young Blues defender, a regular in Keith Bertschin's reserve team side, has been named in Ireland manager Sean McCaffrey's squad for the double header against the Italians in Corato on 18th January and again in Biscegli on 20th January.
Painter was forced to sit out the Blues reserves game against Newcastle United tonight (Thursday) as he serves a one game ban for his sending off in the reserves last fixture against Aston Villa in December.
