Graham Poll In The Middle For Leeds Game

Last updated : 06 January 2005 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues have already had the pleasure of the Tring based official refereeing two of their fixtures this season.

Mr Poll was the man in the middle for the away game against Middlebrough back on 11th September when Muzzy Izzet, Dwight Yorke and Emile Heskey all picked up yellow cards.

The last Blues game refereed by Graham Poll was the 1-1 home draw with Norwich City back on 27th November when Mario Melchiot and David Dunn both picked up cautions.

Graham Poll has not taken charge of any Leeds United fixtures so far this season but I'm sure fans of the Whites have good reason to recall the last time he officiated one of their games!! Mr Poll was the referee in charge of Leeds' 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough in January 2004 when goalkeeper Paul Robinson (now at Spurs) was shown a red card and Dominic Matteo picked up a yellow card.

In total and including the Southampton v Fulham game on wednesday night, Graham Poll has refereed 19 Premier League games handing out an astonishing 58 yellow cards and 3 reds.

Mr D Babski and Mr A Butler will be Graham Polls assistants for the 3rd round tie at St Andrews on saturday afternoon.
