The Northamptonshire official, new to the list of select referees this season, has yet to take charge of a Blues game this season.
Peter Walton has however taken charge of one Southampton game this season. He was the man in the middle for their 2-2 home draw against Crystal Palace back on 27th November. No Saints players were booked that day.
In total Peter Walton has refereed 11 Premier League matches so far this season in which he has handed out 28 yellow cards and just one red.
Mr S Procter-Green and Mr G Sutton will be Peter Walton's assistants for the game against the Saints at St Andrew's on Wednesday evening.
