Phil Dowd In The Middle For Fulham Game

Last updated : 19 January 2005 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues have already had the pleasure of the Staffordshire official refereeing one of their league games this season whilst Mr Dowd has taken charge of two Fulham fixtures also.

Phil Dowd was the man in the middle for Blues' first Premier League victory of the season against Manchester City at St Andrew's back on 24th August. Midfielder Muzzy Izzet was the only Blues player booked that night.

The last time Phil Dowd took charge of a Fulham game was in their 1-1 home draw against Manchester United in December. Fulham's Papa Diop and Thomas Radzinski were shown yellow cards that night.

Prior to the United game, Mr Dowd had also taken charge of Fulham's 2-0 away defeat against Aston Villa on 23rd October when full-back Moritz Volz was the only player cautioned for the Cottagers.

In total Phil Dowd has taken charge of 12 Premier League fixtures so far this season in which he has handed out 30 yellow cards and 3 reds.

Mr R Lewis (he famous for the 'goal' that wasn't in the Man Utd v Spurs clash earlier this month) and Mr D C Richards will be Phil Dowd's assistants for the game at St Andrew's on saturday afternoon.
