Blues have already had the pleasure of the Staffordshire-based official refereeing one of their games so far this season as Mr Dowd was the man in the middle for our 1-1 away draw against Nottingham Forest back on 8th November. Kemy Agustein, Radhi Jaidi, Cameron Jerome and the now departed Nigel Quashie were all booked for Blues at The City Ground on that occasion.
In total Phil Dowd has taken charge of 40 games so far this season in which he has handed out 134 yellow cards and 6 reds.
Andy Halliday and Jeremy Simpson will be Phil Dowd's assistants for the live on television match at St Andrews on Saturday evening (kick-off 5.20pm).
