Change

I'm still trying to shake off my hangover from the weekend in Blackpool/Preston. It's great to be back amongst England's elite. The Premiership is the only place to be, and as the club that carries the name of our second City it's the place we should be.

For me, on a personal level, the summer break has been emotional.

I don't need to remind you of what a big Blue-Nose I am. Like the rest of the 30,000 odd active fans I follow my club home and away and am vociferous in my football opinions. I love the Blues! Plain and simple. No more or no less that any of you, it's my club and it plays a major part in my waking thoughts.

5 years ago I got presented with an amazing opportunity, to work for the club I love. As the MC in the sponsors lounge not only did I get to see behind the scenes and get paid for watching my team, I got to meet the players and the people who owned and ran the club. It was like a dream come true for a Blue-Nose such as me. During that time I forged one or two friendships with some of the players such as Geoff Horsefield, Stephen Clemence, Martin Taylor, Stan Lazaridis and Jermain Pennant, all of whom, I have to say, were genuinely top blokes. No attitude, no superiority complexes, just nice geezers. On the flip side to that I had to deal with the arseholes. Savage, Cunningham, Butt, Sutton, and a couple of players I wont name because they still play for us, were pretentious and arrogant in the extreme. But it was part of the job I did to have to suffer these people. David Gold is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He always had time for me and the supporters. He has become a genuine Blue-Nose and when he leaves in the new year, (that's just my opinion) he'll be missed. David Sullivan, on the other hand is a miserable man. He looks down his nose at everybody and could never be bothered to even bring himself to speak to any of the people that worked so hard for the club he owned. And as for Brady…… I'm saying nothing! If I did say how I felt about that woman I'd end up in court.

It's probably obvious to you all by now, judging by the tone of my article, that I am no longer an employee of Birmingham City.

A certain person who works in the commercial department turned out to be an untrustworthy, disloyal and nasty piece of work. I had no choice this summer but to quit. I might not have the full compliment of morals but one thing I insist on is loyalty. You do right by me and I'll do right by you. This person showed their true colours during the close season, and I wont work for him any more. Anyway, he's a Viler!!!! Also the commercial department has seen a mass exodus during the summer, all the good people have left. (Strangely they seem to have gone to Derby County!!) Ha ha.

In saying that I still have friends at the club, so I'm going to say a big hello to the following people…. Ben, my mate, you're the one I'll miss the most. My cousin Tom, I'm glad you went back mate. Jess, no words needed. Ryan, thanks for staying in touch and of course Vinny, you made the right choice.

Anyway, all that aside, I still intend to bore you all on a weekly basis with my articles that Brian so kindly loads up for me. One good thing about me leaving is that I no longer have to worry about what I write! Last season when I started these articles, I had to get them approved by the club before I could send them on to Brian. That's no longer the case! Now I can say what I like, as long as I keep it free of libellous comments.

I'm going to stop rambling now that I've got a couple of things off my chest. We're 2 games in, we have 1 point and I think we look okay. Kapo looks a good signing, Ridgewell for 2million looks an absolute steal, (what was O'Neil thinking?) and I have a strong feeling that O'Conner could be the pick of the bunch. But most of all, without any shadow of a doubt, how happy are we all that Mikael is back? Do you, like me, wonder if Forssel's pre-season form is the reason the Mido deal collapsed?

It's great to be back, and I'm chuffed that my old pal Stuart has had a box in the main stand. It means that I can watch the lads for free all season!! Cheers son!

I'd like to ask a favour of you all, please let me know what you think of my articles. If you agree or disagree with the things I say it would be great to hear from you. I'm happy to debate anything you might want to talk about.

I do have one final message….. Hossam Ghaly….. how's life in Spurs Reserves?

KRO
