Player Ratings v Cardiff City

Last updated : 05 March 2007 By Brian Cartlidge
Doyle - A couple of anxious moments on a terrible pitch made up for with a couple of excellent saves.

Kelly - Played well defensively and got forward on a few occasions.

N'Gotty - Difficult start against the two Cardiff frontmen but improved as the game went on.

Martin Taylor - A good first half spoilt by some sloppy stuff in the second period.

Sadler - Looked jaded but gave his all and had a big hand in the goal that won the game.

Larsson - Scored the winner but never really got into the game.

Clemence - Outstanding - a captains performance.

Muamba - Battled away and had a couple of half chances to open his goalscoring account.

McSheffrey - Little impact first half but improved second half.

Vine - Worked his socks off - best he's played since signing for Blues?.

Bendtner - The rest seems to have done him the world of good - an exceptional talent.

Subs:

Nafti (for Muamba, 72 mins) - Composed.

Jerome (for Vine, 84 mins) - Only on the pitch for ten minutes but caused the tiring Cardiff defence all sorts of problems.

Subs not used: Maik Taylor, Gray, Campbell.

*Star Man* - Stephen Clemence
