Player Ratings v Plymouth

Last updated : 05 November 2006 By SpionKop

Taylor - Had a very busy afternoon and made a couple of fine saves.
Goalkicking erratic.

Kelly - Poor distribution, and like Sadler frequently beaten down the
flanks.

Jaidi - Probably the Blues best player. Tireless worker but I wish his
defensive headers were directed at Blues players. However his best header
of the day was reserved for a stunning goal from a McSheffrey corner.

Martin Taylor - Captain for the day he caused concern at his slownness to
turn in the box. Worked hard throughout and frequently joined in attacks
down the right flank.

Sadler - Distribution was appalling and got caught in posession several
times.. However he was not helped by not having an outlet down the left
flank.

Danns - Ineffective and his poor first touch cost him his only goal
chance. . No surprise when he was substituted early in the second half by
Larsson.

Clemence - Had one goal attempt cleared off the line and worked hard
throughout.

Muamba - Very disappointing performance. He picked up a deserved yellow
card for a reckless foul on the edge of the box and should have been sent
off moments later for a repeat performance when he was the last defender
but the referee bottled out..

McSheffrey - Caused few problems for Argyle, until late in the game when
he was moved up to partner Bendtner after Jerome was substituted

Bendtner - Too slow at times and beaten in the air throughout the
afternoon. What few shots he had were wide of the target.

Jerome - Got an undeserved yellow card for an accidental high tackle. Ran
and chased hard throughout but won nothing in the air and his first touch was
appalling. Eventually substituted by Gray.

Subs:-
Larsson - added to the Argyle keepers easy afternoon by balooning one
shot over the bar. Tried to be creative.

Gray - did litle to add to a poor Blues performance after replacing
Jerome.

Nafti - Came on for Clemence to waste time at the end of the match.
