Bruce's View: West Brom (a)

The Blues skipper scored arguably the best goal of his career just four minutes from the end of the game to earn Blues a well deserved point against one of their main promotion rivals.

"We needed that resilience and took a bit of a gung-ho approach and thankfully Damien Johnson popped up with a wonder strike," Bruce said after the game.

"I've had him with me for five years and I will never spend another £50,000 like I did on him.

"The goal he scored was possibly the best goal he has scored in his career.

"We new before the game that they (West Brom) needed a result. I have said from the offset these are the ones to beat.

"You can see Diomansy Kamara, Kevin Phillips and Jason Koumas are quality. They have all played in the Premier League. Kamara is arguably the best player outside the top flight."
