First half goals from Brian Jensen (o.g) and Christian Benitez (his first goal of the season at St Andrews) helped Blues to a 2-1 victory over the relegated Clarets on Saturday lunchtime.
"We were very keen to get on to 50 points and it was very important to sustain the home record," the Blues boss said after the match.
"Not to lose here since September is a marvellous achievement.
"At the beginning of the season we targeted a point a game. Our tally could have been even higher.
"It was good to get a victory because we have stuttered recently in terms of results but not performances."
