Congratulations to the Gunners on an unprecedented Premiership season. Apart from the surprising Champions League exit to Chelsea and FA Cup defeat to Man United they have been faultless. Not only have they romped the Premiership but they have done so with supreme panache and provided marvellous entertainment. I am sure all Blues fans will acknowledge that in the last two seasons Arsenal have been the best side to visit St Andrews.

Blues' point at Highbury a fortnight ago was a remarkable achievement and it was pleasing to see the return of David Dunn who showed us what we have missed. It was a shame that Forssell was injured and I am sure every Bluenose in the land wished the chance in the second half had fell to the Flying Finn. In fairness to Morrison the defender got a slight touch on the ball but wouldn’t it have been marvellous to spoil the party!

European qualification is behond us now so it would be nice to end the season on a high and certainly a top ten finish should be achievable.

The 2003-04 season has been one of over achieving! We started with an amazing run of clean sheets and scored unexpected wins at
Newcastle, Leeds and Bolton. Who would have thought we would be in the top ten all season?

The Blues have maintained the ability to still boot us in the gonads just when we all think we’ve cracked it i.e. Sunderland, Blackburn, Leicester, etc. but it is unfair to take games in isolation when as a whole the campaign has startled all of us. The extension of Forssell’s loan gives us great hope for next season.

The various media links with players such as Kezman, Smith, Heskey, Izzett, Butt, etc, whilst disruptive to all concerned who still have jobs to do, has demonstrated to the football world that we have true ambition and are not going to sit back and rely on hope.

All over the
Midlands fans of our club are coming out of the woodwork and renewing their affiliation with the Blues.

Bizarrely one of the things that bonded us loyal fans together was that we had never won anything. We had our own siege mentality, when you met a fellow fan it was a tale of woe and long journeys away followed by despondent trips home. We all have our own horror stories to tell. The 3-0 FA Cup defeat away to Torquay was my particular low point. But all that can be consigned to Rothman’s Yearbook.

I love the way we are today, the direction we are heading and the respect other fans now give our club. Thank you Steve Bruce for a magnificent season. Thank you David Sullivan, Ralph and David Gold and Karren Brady for transforming our comatose giant into a club competing for the Champions League. I never thought it would happen.

So whilst on the subject of dreams coming true any chance of a top three finish, a major trophy and a naked mud wrestle with Britney Spears? I’ll leave it with you Mr Sullivan. I’ll take two out of three!
