Anderton made his first appearance in a Blues shirt since signing as a free agent back at the beginning of August in the game at Villa Park.
Playing mostly wide-right the former Spurs midfielder showed some neat touches before being replaced just past the hour mark.
He could not prevent however Keith Bertschin's side suffering their first loss of the Barclays Premiership Reserves league season.
