The Tring official has officiated two Blues games so far this season, the first being the away game at Southampton back in August when he denied Blues a clear-cut penalty when David Dunn was upended in the box by Graham Le Saux in the second half of the 0-0 draw at St. Mary's, Robbie Savage seeing yellow in that game.

Mr Barber was also the referee in Blues' recent away game at Wolves when Christophe Dugarry picked up his fourth booking of the season during the 1-1 draw at The Molineux and he turned down appeals for what looked a certain penalty when Mikael Forssell was upended by Alex Rae.

As for Rovers games, Barber was in charge of their 1-0 home defeat to Charlton in October when three of their players saw yellow.

In total Mr. Barber has officiated 9 Premier League games so far this season dishing out 29 yellow cards and sending off one player, Gareth Barry of Aston Villa seeing red in their opening game of the season at Portsmouth.
