Benno to stay

Bennett, who was Barry Fry's first ever signing for Blues back in December 1993 had been interesting Ipswich but manager Steve Bruce is now confident he will sign the two-year deal Blues have offered him.

“It’s great news. I’ve said all along that I’ve not wanted Benno to go and I’m delighted he’s staying with us, Bruce told the Birmingham Mail.

“His displays towards the end of the season were magnificent.”
