Former Newcastle United left-back Olivier Bernard is to train with Blues with a view to signing for the club.
The French defender, who Blues boss Steve Bruce tried to sign during the January transfer window but who instead joined Southampton, is a fee agent now that his short-term contract at St Mary's expired at the end of last season.
Bernard will join-up with the Blues squad who are in Norway for a pre-season tour until the middle of next week.
