Birmingham V Millwall at St Andrews Stadium - Match Preview

Elliott worry for Blues

Wade Elliott is a doubt for Birmingham's home clash against Millwall due to a calf problem.

The midfielder was unavailable for last Wednesday's impressive Capital One Cup victory over Swansea due to injury but returned as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Reading.

Nikola Zigic featured for this first time this season at the Madejski Stadium having fully recovered from a back injury and he will again look to be involved.

Strikers Akwasi Asante (hamstring) and Lee Novak (dead leg) as well as midfielder Hayden Mullins (calf) continue to be assessed but long-term absentee Neal Eardley (knee) definitely misses out.

Millwall can welcome back Shane Lowry and Steve Morison.

Defender Lowry has completed a three-match ban after he was sent off in the 5-1 defeat by Derby a fortnight ago.

Scott Malone has deputised at left-back and his impressive performances, including a goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over Leeds, could see him keep his place but Lowry can also operate at centre-half, where the Lions are without Mark Beevers for a couple of months due to knee ligament damage.

Striker Morison was ineligible to face Leeds under the terms of his loan deal from Elland Road and could go straight into the starting line-up as Scott McDonald has a knee problem.
