The Blues' first team coach is reportedly being considered for the position at Easter Road made vacant by Tony Mowbraw's decision to quit Hibs to take on the managers role at Midlands neighbours West Brom.
It is reported that Black was considered for the Easter Road job before Mowbray was appointed in 2004 and that Hibs Chairman Rod Petrie is a big admirer of the former Coventry City and Motherwell manager.
