The Blues assistant boss was manager of the Sky Blues for a short period before Peter Reid took over in 2004 and media reports have suggested that he could be amongst the candidates to take on the role vacated by Micky Adams departure earlier this week.

"It's difficult for me to speak about something I'm not aware of but it is flattering to be considered a candidate for the Coventry job - if that is the case," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"However, this job I have got now, the one I am actively working away at with Birmingham, is what I am concentrating on and more than happy doing.

"I'm trying to help get the club back to where it belongs - the Premiership.

"Whether I'm doing something right, I don't know. That's for others to comment on. I'm just happy here at Birmingham and it is nice we are doing well and under highly-pressured circumstances given what happened to us last year."
