Blues face competition for Dugarry

According to the French World Cup winners agent, Dugarry is 100 percent certain to negotiate a move to England and Blues are leading the chase for the player - but there is also interest from both Manchester City and Tottenham.

"Christophe won't sign anything this week because negotiations won't start before next week," said Dugarry's representative Phillippe Sol.

"Birmingham are still leading the way but Tottenham or even Manchester City are still options," he added.

Thirty-year-old Dugarry's lawyer met representatives from St Andrews earlier this month and the forward held preliminary talks with manager Steve Bruce.

Dugarry was part of the France side that won the 1998 World Cup and European Championships in 2000 and his home-town club Bordeaux won't stand in his way if a move to England can be sealed.
