Blues face FA disciplinary commission

Last updated : 19 December 2002 By Brian Cartlidge

FA officials will hear the club's explanation after they were charged with failure to protect players and officials, plus failure to control encroachment onto the pitch.

One fan was given a four-month prison sentence after runing onto the St. Andrew's pitch and taunted Villa keeper Peter Enckelman after his blunder gifted Blues their second goal in the 3-0 victory.

If a guilty verdict is passed, the Blues could face a points deduction although it appears more likely that they will be fined.
