Blues Hoping To Keep The Rifle

The Uruguayan striker has been the subject of recent interest from a number of Spanish clubs but Chairman David Gold feels Blues need to hold onto the striker who has struggled to hold down a regular starting place this season.

"I'm hoping we can keep hold of Pandiani," said Gold.

"I think we need everybody as we speak. I don't think we can afford to let anybody go during this very difficult period for Birmingham City.

Pandiani's first team chances are likely to decrease following the arrival of Chris Sutton from Celtic but Gold added: "At the moment the preferred pairing would probably be Sutton and Heskey, two huge strikers, particularly with our strength on the wings. I'd expect that to be quite awesome."
