The 30-year-old striker, who spent most of last season on loan at Wigan, had been expected to join the Bluebirds but pulled out of the move at the last minute with the Welsh club claiming he wants to speak to Blues over a possible move to St Andrews. "However disappointing this may be, we are completely focused on bringing in the right players prior to the new season starting."
"We're unaware of whether he has been given permission to talk to Birmingham City, we only want players who are committed to Cardiff and have withdrawn from the deal," a statement on the official Cardiff City website reads.
