Blues In Bowyer Talks

Blues boss Steve Bruce spoke of his admiration of the former Charlton and Leeds United midfielder earlier this week and the Magpies have agreed to talks taking place about a possible transfer, although no fee has been agreed.

Newcastle have emerged as clear favourites to sign another Blues target in Scott Parker from Chelsea and it appears that with that deal nearing conclusion then they are willing to let Bowyer leave St James' Park for a nominal fee.

Whilst their can be no doubt about Bowyers footballing ability, the 28-year-old midfielder has been the subject of controversy over recent years and only last week was in court on a public order offence for his part in the bust-up with Newcastle team-mate Kieron Dyer in the Premier League game against the Villa in April.
