Blues May Try Again For Pavlyuchenko

Blues failed in their bid to lure the Russian international to St Andrews during the January transfer window but McLeish has admitted that he may try to sign the 28-year-old striker again in the summer.

“We went for Pavlyuchenko, as most people know, and his wages weren’t outrageous,” the Blues boss told the Birmingham Mail.

“He’s a top player. He would have enhanced the squad.

“He would have come in and really upped the ante in terms of the competition for strikers but it wasn’t to be and maybe we will revisit it.”
