The players and management team have been given the chance to take the Division One Play-Off trophy on to the balcony of the council house to display it to the thousands Blues fans who would pack Victoria Square.

A spokesman for the Lord Mayor's office has told the Birmingham Post & Mail: "Last week we told the club we would like to give them a formal civic reception with the Lord Mayor.

"The club didn't make a firm commitment at the time because they said they wanted to await the result.

"Now they've won we've gone back to them and offered them the chance to have the reception either on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday."

The spokesman said it would be left to the club to decide whether to have a parade from St Andrew's to the council house.
