Blues reserves take on Utd

Last updated : 18 October 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
Olivier Tebily will make his long-awaited comeback from injury and stake a claim for a place in the first team squad for the game with West Brom on Saturday.

Tebily has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the away game in the Premiership against Everton.

Midfielder Bryan Hughes continues to gain match fitness after missing the last four Premiership matches due to an Achilles tendon problem.

One noticable absentee from the squad is Blues club captain Steve Vickers, which indicates manager Steve Bruce maybe looking at bringing the central defender in to replace the suspended Darren Purse in Saturdays Premiership game at The Hawthorns.

Blues will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Villa reserves at St. Andrew's last week, in this fixture at Altrincham's Moss Lane ground - kick-off 7pm.

Blues: Bennett, Beauchamp, Hutchinson, Tebily, Woodhouse, Grondin, Hughes, Carter, Kirovski, Fagan, Evans. Subs: Parker, Allen, Barrowman, Davies, Capaldi.

United: Ricardo; Lynch, Tate, May, Rankin; Chadwick, Pugh, Richardson, Fortune; Nardiello, Forlan. Subs: Roche, B Williams, Fox, Timm, Johnson.
