Blues boss Steve Bruce had hinted that the club may appeal the former Cardiff striker's red card for lashing out at Colchester United captain Karl Duguid 70 minutes into the 2-1 win at St Andrew's on Saturday.

However, after studying video evidence of the incident which occeurred just four minutes into the strikers Blues debut, the club have decided against appealing referee Keith Stroud's decision and Jerome will now sit out the away matches at Sunderland and Stoke this week and the home game against Palace next Saturday.
