Blues Slip A Place

Last updated : 18 January 2004 By Brian Cartlidge

Southamptons 2-1 victory over Leeds at St. Mary's took them one place and one point above Blues into eighth place and sent the financially strapped Yorkshire side to rock-bottom of the table.

Blues, before Sundays game at Chelsea, do have two games in hand over some of the teams around them in the top ten and a win at Stamford Bridge would take them into sixth place.
