Liverpool and Manchester City both had a chance to go above Blues in the Premier League with victories on Sunday afternoon.

However, Gerard Houlliers side were surprisingly beaten 3-2 at Charlton, while Kevin Keegan's City side failed to overturn managerless Tottenham at the City of Manchester stadium, that game finishing goalless

And so the weekend ends with Blues occupying their highest league position for 43 years in fourth place in the Premier League table and with a game in hand on most of the teams around them.

Saturdays clash against Manchester Utd at Old Trafford then, becomes a third against fourth fixture and maybe, just maybe, could be the main game on Saturday nights The Premiership for those unlucky fans unable to get a ticket for the game - don't hold your breath though!!
