Blues had an initial offer of 5.5 million pounds for the former England under-21 skipper rejected a fortnight ago because Rovers wouldn't agree to their down payment of just 3 million pounds.

However, according to the daily tabloid they have increased this by 500,000 pounds to 3.5 million with the other 2 million being paid in two equal payments should they remain in the Premiership for two consecutive seasons.

Blues boss Steve Bruce is now hopeful the bid will be accepted by Rovers and that Dunn, will sign a deal when he returns from holiday at the end of the month.
