Blues win Senior Cup

Blues didn't have it all their own way, however, in the final at Solihull Borough's Damson Park ground and the non-league side from Hall Green took them to extra-time after a goalless ninety minutes.

Darren Carter
Opened the scoring for Blues
Chances were few and far between in the game - a Darren Carter volley 15 minutes from the end of normal time, which was well saved by Moors keeper Adam Rachel - was the closest Blues came to scoring before the game went into extra-time.

However, fitness and class began to tell in the extra-time period and Darren Carter scored Blues opener on 98 minutes with a stunning volley from the edge of the box after Moor Green's defence failed to clear a Blues throw-in.

A good move five minutes later resulted in Blues doubling their lead courtesy of a Tony Capaldi goal. Craig Fagan made a darting run down the left channel and crossed for Peter Till who laid the ball back for Capaldi on the edge of the box and his low drive whistled past keeper Rachel.

The second period of extra-time ended goalless too with the only real chance falling to Moor Green - Marriott saving brilliantly from Stanley five minutes before the final whistle.
