Bruce confirms duo talks

Lens defender Coly's arrival in the country was being filmed by television on Friday morning, forcing the Blues boss to disclose that transfer negotiations were underway.

"Ferdinand is here in Birmingham for the weekend and hopefully we can do a deal, we are close," Bruce told the clubs official website.

"There is still a lot to do but he would be a great acquisition for the club if we can get him, especially with the injuries we have currently got and the suspensions that you know are going to happen during the second half of the season.

"I feel that we do need two or three bodies in to give us a hand and he is certainly one of them.

"It will initially be on a six-month contract and then it would be reviewed in the summer."

Bruce is also hoping to persuade Paris St Germain, and one time Newcastle United, left-back Domi to come to St. Andrew's on a similar deal.

"It is the same scenario as Coly in that we have reached an agreement with the club but we haven't spoken to the player yet," added Bruce.

We hope that he is interested in Birmingham and he wants to come here but we'll see what Didier has to say in the next week or so when we expect him here for talks."

"That will be a loan with a view to buying the player in the summer."
