Bruce Hints At Cisse Exit

Aliou Cisse
The Senegal international midfielder has been scarcely used this season after being placed on the transfer list back in August for failing to arrive back on time for pre-season training and Bruce has told the Birmingham Evening Mail that for "a catalogue of reasons" he feels it may be better for Cisse to move on.

Cisse's career at St Andrews looked bright when he joined the club at the beginning of last season but following a boat tragedy in his homeland, where he lost numerous family members, he has not been the same player.

His disciplinary record also reads poor - in his first season at the club he was booked 11 times in 21 games. He was sent-off by referee Mike Riley on his Blues debut at Arsenal but that red-card was later rescinded.

This term Cisse has made just 17 appearances, with 11 of those coming from the subs bench, and has been booked five times and sent-off once.

I am one of Cisse's biggest fans and will remember him for performances such as those against West Ham last season immediately after the boat tragedy and the home game against Chelsea this year when he was the best Blues player on the pitch by a country mile.

However, its been clear from the beginning of this season that his career at St Andrews was all but over and after the above mentioned game against Chelsea when he wasn't selected for the next fixture just five days later against the Villa it became even more evident than ever that he'd be on his way.
