Substitute Geoff Horsfield secured a draw for Blues with an 81st minute equaliser after Colin Healy's 61st minute strike gave Coventry the lead.

And, Millwall's defeat at Gillingham means the Blues now stand on the verge of the top six.

Speaking straight after the game Bruce said: "It was a wonderful result for us and I thought we did not deserve to lose this game. It was a typical derby game with not much in it and a draw was a fair result.

"I am not going to get carried away with it because strange things happen and the results around this league in recent weeks have shown that.

"There is not an easy game in this division, but if we keep focused we have got an excellent chance of making the play-offs."

Bruce added: "We have played catch-up with everyone waiting for us to slip up, but we have produced a good run at the right time.

"Now comes the hard part and it is in our hands. We have had a difficult run of away games and have come through that superbly.

"We have got four games at home out of the last six matches and that gives us a great chance."
