Damien Johnson - has a back injury
The home point didn't come without further injuries to his already depleted squad however, Damien Johnson, Jovan Kirovski, Steve Vickers and Geoff Horsfield all limped out of the game with injuries, leaving Blues playing with only ten men for the final 10 minutes of the game.

"It is always a gamble to bring all your substitutes on but Geoff and Jovan were both carrying injuries," said Bruce.

Commenting on the tackle by Everton's Wayne Rooney on Blues defender Steve Vickers - which resulted in a straight red-card for the teenage striker - Bruce said: "It was an horrific challenge on Steve that needed something like eight stiches.

"Hopefully he hasn't suffered any serious damage to the ankle joint - he has got a whole the size of a 10p in his foot.

"It is difficult to be disappointed with a draw with so many players missing and others picking up injuries during the game. I feel as though I am constantly using injuries as an excuse but we have suffered a lot of bad luck in that department.

"I can't fault our effort, endeavour and spirit because otherwise we would be struggling at the bottom of the league with the players that are injured at the moment."

"We can play better and need to create more chances because our final ball was poor at times today.

"It is tough at the moment but we have got to roll up our sleeves.

"I was delighted for Jovan - he has scored two goals in three games after a wonderful cross from Stan.

"We have done okay and got a result today."
