Bruce spoilt for choice

Only goalkeeper Nico Vaesen, striker Clinton Morrison and Senegal midfielder Aliou Cisse are sidelined with injuries as Blues go into the two-game Easter programme looking for possibly just three points to secure their place in the top-flight.

Bruce has an adundance of options he can choose from for the first of the two games at Charlton on Saturday with Darren Puse and Olivier Tebily both challenging Kenny Cunningham, Mattew Upson, Jamie Clapham and Jeff Kenna for a place in the back four.

Midfielders Robbie Savage and Damien Johnson are also fit to return after both players missed the 2-0 home victory over Sunderland last week, leaving Bruce with eight players vying for the four midfield places at the Valley.

In attack Bruce can choose any two from Jovan Kirovski, Christophe Duggary, Geoff Horsfield and Stern John.

Bruce is likely to shuffle the side around over the two games with Southampton the visitors at St. Andrew's on Monday afternoon but I can't remember one time this season where the Blues boss has had so many senior squad players to choose from!

Perm any sixteen from this lot for the game at the Valley: Bennett, Marriott, Tebily, Kenna, Cunningham, Upson, Purse, Clapham, Devlin, Hughes, Savage, D Johnson, Clemence, Lazaridis, Swierczewski, Carter, Kirovski, Dugarry, Horsfield, John.
