Jeff Kenna, Bryan Hughes, Stern John and Nico Vaesen are all nearing the end of their present contracts at St. Andrews and the Blues boss has said he would like all four to sign new deals once the club are sure they will be playing Premiership football next season.

Because of injuries to other players Kenna, Hughsie and John have all played a major part in the last few weeks in keeping Blues in the top ten of the Premier League table and Bruce is keen for them to sign new deals once Blues reach the magic 40 points mark.

Bruce also wants goalkeeper Vaesen, who has recently returned to action after seven months out with a knee injury and is now back at the club after a one month loan spell at Gillingham, to remain at the club.

"I would like to keep them all," said the Blues boss.

"They might want to go and play elsewhere but, in an ideal world, if we stay in the Premiership I'd like them all to stay."
