Bruce Won't Be Going To Newcastle!

It seems that everytime Newcastle have lost a game the Blues boss has been widely tipped as one of the favourites to takeover at St. James' Park should the Magpies part company with their 71-year-old former England boss.

However, Newcastle chairman Freddie Shepherd has confirmed that Robson has signed an extension on his contract that will keep him at the club until the end of season 2004-05 - at least!

"Bobby has signed a new one-year contract," said Shepherd.

"He's got one more season to go after this season which I think he's happy with and we're happy with, so he's here until the end of 2005.

"Knowing Bobby, I wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens. He's a one-off."

Hopefully this news will now put an end to all the rumours linking Brucey with the job at his hometown club.
